The Pretty Guardians and their allies need your help to defeat the Dark Kingdom and the Black Moon! Square off in one-on-one dice battles or team up for larger action!

Each player selects one of the 24 included Sailor Moon Crystal series characters to play. You and an opponent use your selected characters to battle each other in several rounds of combat. During the game, both of you are rolling a number of dice of different sizes (from 4-sides to 20-sides) and trying to use the numbers rolled to capture your opponent’s dice and gain points. The winner gains a victory point while the defeated character powers up and becomes an even stronger opponent! The first person to win three rounds wins the game.

There’s also the option to play the game using teams when you have more than two players, either through single combat teams or in tag-team combats. To accommodate an unlimited number of players at an anime/gaming/fandom convention, local game store/cafe, or any large gathering of family and friends, additional tournament rules are provided.

Sailor Moon Crystal Dice Challenge is designed by James Ernest of Cheapass Games and is fully compatible with their Button Men series of games.

Sailor Moon Crystal Dice Challenge Board Game Box

Everything needed to begin your dice battles is included in one box:

  • 24 full-colour character cards, each featuring a hero or villain from the Sailor Moon Crystal series
  • 24 polyhedral dice (four coloured sets of six different dice types)
  • 55 cardboard die-cut tokens representing special abilities, coins, and victory tokens
  • 2 plastic card holders and 2 different custom Sailor Moon Crystal lanyards for social portable play that are ideal for playing at conventions or in other large groups
  • 6 challenge cards to advertise that you are ready for a combat duel, each featuring a super-deformed Sailor Moon Crystal character
  • A 12-page full-colour manual with detailed game rules, numerous play examples, and expanded rules for larger battles (single-combat team play, tag-team play, and tournament play)

Since we announced our licensing agreement with Toei Animation to create a line of Sailor Moon Crystal tabletop games, we have been inundated with an incredible amount of support and interest. Finally, Dyskami Publishing is giving you early access to the game! We are shipping pre-ordered copies to customers first so you’ll receive it before the game is available for purchase at retail stores.

Due to the geographic restrictions of our licensing agreement, we can only ship the Sailor Moon Crystal Dice Challenge, Sailor Pluto promo card, and Guardians poster to addresses within Canada and the USA. Pre-orders are priced in USD currency for all customers and are collected through Paypal.

The $35 Guardian and $65 Team pre-order levels do not include freight charges, which will be billed separately to customers (again, through Paypal) when the game is ready to ship in April or May. The shipping cost depends on the destination address as outlined in the chart below. Free pick-up is available in Guelph at The Boardroom Game Cafe and at conventions that Dyskami Publishing attends this spring (specific convention attendance still to be determined). You will receive an email from us when we are preparing game shipments with instructions concerning payment of shipping charges.

This game is dedicated to our dear friend and Art Director, Jeff Mackintosh, who lost his multi-year battle to cancer in September 2016 during the graphic production of the Sailor Moon Crystal Dice Challenge. Jeff loved creating and was passionate about completing his work on this game even while he endured months of chemotherapy. We love him and miss him dearly and are proud to present Jeff’s final work to you.

When will Dice Challenge ship to me?

The game is currently in production in our factory in Asia. Giving consideration to ocean freight times, we expect all backers will have their copies of the game in July 2018.

I don't live in Canada or the US? Can I still pre-order a copy of the game and have you ship it to my country?

Unfortunately, due to the geographic restrictions of our licensing agreement with Toei Animation, we can only ship the Sailor Moon Crystal Dice Challenge, Sailor Pluto promo card, and Guardians poster to addresses within Canada and the USA.

Can I just buy the Guardians poster or Sailor Pluto promo card separately?

These two promotional items are not available for sale, but rather are provided free to customers who pre-order the game from Dyskami Publishing directly.

Are the Outer Planetary Guardians (Uranus, Neptune, Saturn, Pluto) included in the game?

This initial release includes characters from the Dark Kingdom and Black Moon arcs from seasons 1 and 2 of the Sailor Moon Crystal anime series. Consequently, none of the Outer Planetary Guardians are included in this base game, though we may release an expansion pack covering season 3 of the series (the Infinity Arc) in the future. That said, everyone who supports our crowdfunding pre-order of the game will also receive a special Sailor Pluto promo card. This powerful character card WILL NOT be included inside the game box and is available exclusively at launch to pre-ordering backers only.

Is this game a reprint of the 1999 Sailor Moon Button Men?

The gameplay of the Sailor Moon Crystal Dice Challenge is substantially similar to the original Sailor Moon Button Men game but the production, packaging, inclusions (lanyards and dice) and multi-player rules are completely new and updated specifically for the Sailor Moon Crystal series. Furthermore, the dice values for many of the characters have been rebalanced compared to the older game. You can read more about the history of this game on a blog post on the Dyskami website.

How will the billing show up on my credit card or Paypal account?
